A grandfather’s last request
Rohani Ambo Rappe (PhD in Marine Ecology, University of Newcastle) had not planned a course of study leading to marine ecology. “No matter the cost, you have to become a medical doctor,” Rohani quoted her grandfather. “I wanted to fulfil that request. He was the one who kept pushing me in my studies.”

Febriane Paulina Makalew certainly enjoys her role as lecturer in the Civil Engineering Diploma Programs within the Civil Engineering Department at the Manado State Polytechnic.
“I’ve been teaching since 1998, and enjoy the interaction I have with my students. I’m also currently the supervisory lecturer for five students. Not only am I able to provide guidance in terms of their academic achievements, but also in personal issues should those affect their studies,” Febriane explained.

Yanti Magdalena Sihotang, Master in Urban Regional Planning, University of South Australia, 2007, has always been a bright scholar and continuously ranked top ten of her class. Yanti became one of two students who completed their program earlier than the rest of their undergraduate class with a Bachelor of Agriculture in Socio-Economic Agriculture from Universitas Tanjungpura in 2000.
